Terms of Use
The terms for using this directory, for everybody who is not listing a business on it. They are written to be read, so they are in plain language and they are short. Version 4 September 2026.
1. What LinksTC is
LinksTC is a directory of local services in the Turks and Caicos Islands. You search it, you find a business, and you contact that business directly. That is the whole of what happens here.
Using the site means accepting these terms. If you do not, the answer is to stop using it — there is no account to close, because browsing needs no account.
2. What a listing is, and what we do not check
Somebody does read a listing before it appears. That review is a check that it is a real, comprehensible listing for a service — a business name that means something, a description that describes work, contact details that go somewhere. It is not an investigation of the business behind it, and it is not a promise to you about the work.
Not every change to a listing is reviewed, and it is worth knowing which. The first version of a listing is reviewed before it appears, and so is any later change to its name, its descriptions, its logo, its categories, which services it lists, or its photographs — none of those reaches the site until somebody has read it. A change to contact details, prices, years in business, the cover image, the wording of a service, a photograph’s caption or the areas served can appear straight away, without review. So a phone number or a price you are reading may have been changed since anyone here last looked at the listing.
A few listings carry a Verified mark, and it means one narrow thing. A LinksTC administrator has recorded that they checked the business is who it says it is — that there is a real business of that name behind the listing. It is nota check of licences, of insurance, or of the quality of anybody’s work, and it is not a recommendation. It can be withdrawn at any time, and a listing without the mark is not a listing anybody has found fault with — most listings simply have not been through that check.
So please do your own checks before you hire anybody: ask for references, ask about insurance, and confirm any licence the Islands require for the work. That advice is here because it is genuinely the position, not as a formality.
3. Prices
Any price on a listing is information the business put there, to give you an idea of what the work costs. It is not an offer, it can be out of date, and nothing on this site can accept it or take payment for it. Agree the price with the business.
4. Contacting a business
The call, WhatsApp, email and website buttons take you straight to the business. The conversation that follows is between you and them, on their phone or in their inbox — it does not pass through LinksTC and we cannot see it, keep it, or help with it afterwards.
We count that a button was tapped, so the business can see how many enquiries their listing brings in. What that count contains, and what it deliberately does not, is in the Privacy Policy.
5. Using the site fairly
Please do not:
- copy the directory — scraping, bulk-downloading or harvesting listings or contact details, by hand or with a script, for a mailing list, a rival directory or anything else;
- file reports you know to be untrue, or use the report form to harass a business or to flood the queue;
- try to get at anything that is not published — another person’s account, a listing that is not live, or the parts of the site that are not for the public;
- interfere with the site itself: probing it, overloading it, or getting round the checks on its forms.
The contact details on a listing are there so a customer can reach that business. Using them to sell something to the business is the thing this section is mostly about.
6. Reporting a listing
Every listing has a Report this listing link. Use it if a business has closed, if the contact details are wrong, if it is not a real business, if there is something inappropriate on the listing, or for anything else that is a problem with what is published.
You are asked for a reason, a description of the problem, and an email address. The description is required — a report we cannot understand is a report nobody can act on. The address is not: leaving it out is a normal way to file a report and is not held against it, and the only thing it costs you is that we cannot come back to you about it.
Every report ends in one of four places, and the record says which:
- Open — filed, and waiting for somebody to read it.
- Reviewed — looked at, and the listing was left as it is.
- Actioned — the listing was changed or moderated because of the report.
- Dismissed — not a real problem with the listing.
We read every report. We do not promise to reply to one, and we do not promise a particular outcome — a report is information we act on, not an instruction. If you left an email address we may use it to ask you something about the report.
7. The content on this site
A business’s name, descriptions, prices, logo and photographs belong to that business. The rest of the site — its design, its wording and the way the directory is put together — is ours. Either way, you are welcome to read it, link to it and share it, and section 5 is about the rest.
8. What we are and are not responsible for
We are responsible for running this directory honestly: for reviewing listings before they appear, for taking down a listing when there is a reason to, and for the site itself.
We are not responsible for the businesses listed on it. We did not do their work, set their prices, or make their promises, and we cannot stand behind any of the three. If something goes wrong with a job, it is between you and the business — although we do want to hear about it, because it may be a reason to change what is published.
Everything on a listing comes from the business, so we cannot guarantee it is accurate or current. LinksTC is a small platform and is provided as it is: we do not promise it will always be reachable, and we do not promise you will find what you are looking for. Nothing here limits any right you have that the law says cannot be limited.
9. Changes
If we change these terms we publish the new version with a new date at the top of this page. Carrying on using the site after that is how the new version is accepted, which is the only mechanism there is when there is no account to email.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Turks and Caicos Islands, and its courts are where any dispute about them is dealt with.
11. Getting in touch
